  • Addas received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran
  • He holds two master’s degrees, in business administration and electrical engineering, from Stanford University in the US.

Abdulrahman Addas has been CEO of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites since July 2018. He has more than 16 years of experience in institutional and digital transformation, design and strategy management, financial consultancy, real estate development and technology investment.

Addas received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran.

He holds two master’s degrees, in business administration and electrical engineering, from Stanford University in the US.

He has also worked with a number of large companies and government institutions in the Middle East, South Africa and Europe.

Addas was CEO of Majid Al-Futtaim Holding, leading its corporate strategy and overseeing strategy alignment in all business units.

He also kept tabs on investment mergers and acquisitions, and capital shares used in the overall development and innovation of the group’s operations and customer experience.

On Monday, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired a board meeting of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. The board approved a strategic plan for Makkah and the holy sites, and the establishment of a company, headquartered in the city, to develop the sites.

Addas said the decisions and directives were in line with the wishes of King Salman and the crown prince to establish a sustainable future for Makkah and the holy sites, to provide the best possible services to worshippers, and to enrich the quality of life in the city.
