DHL Express Saudi Arabia has launched ‘JoyBox’ as a social responsibility initiative to benefit children at orphanages in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. DHL delivers the JoyBoxes to customers who are invited to fill them with clothes, books and toys, and then call DHL Express to arrange for pick up to be delivered to selected orphanage centers. JoyBoxes are also available in DHL Express retail outlets.
In the first phase DHL Express aims to distribute 3,000 JoyBoxes to their top and loyal customers and also to selected retail outlets. Each box is branded and includes an envelope containing a call for help to donate suitable items to be sent to the orphanages. It also includes three stories – two in Arabic and one in English – written by orphans to encourage people to donate.
“The JoyBox initiative is a first for DHL and it is a great honor for this CSR campaign to be introduced and implemented by DHL Express Saudi Arabia as we proudly developed the campaign,” said Tarek Ziadeh, Senior Director Customer Service and Retail at DHL Express Saudi Arabia. “We are delighted the introduction of this initiative in Saudi Arabia has led our DHL Regional office to want adopt it in other markets in the MENA region.”
When DHL Express receives the JoyBoxes they will consolidate them for distribution to the selected orphanage centers: Bunyan Charity Organization in Riyadh, Al Faisaliya Women Welfare Society in Jeddah, and Fatat Al Khaleej Charity in Al-Khobar.
