RIYADH: The secretary-general of the Arab Organization for Red Crescent and Red Cross, Dr. Salih bin Hamad Al-Tuwaijri, underscored the importance of the decisions issued by the recent GCC, Arab and Islamic summits to curb the spread of conflicts and achieve stability.
Al-Tuwaijri noted that the three summits, which were held in Makkah at the invitation of King Salman, embody the strenuous efforts by the Kingdom to ease humanitarian suffering in a number of countries, using diplomacy to promote the role of the GCC and Arab and Islamic organizations in forging solidarity between donor and recipient countries.
He praised the support given to the Arab Organization for the Red Crescent and Red Cross by Saudi Arabia, contributing to upgrading its refugee work through its national member associations.
The spokesman of the Palestinian presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that the adoption by the Arab and Islamic nations of the Palestinian position sent a very clear message to the US administration and Israel. It confirmed that the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace is by implementing the international resolutions and rejecting any deal that does not conform to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
