The general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, met with Enzo Amendola, Italian minister of European affairs, in Rome on Sunday, as well as with the president of the Italian Senate’s foreign affairs committee, Vito Rosario Petrocelli, and Pier Ferdinando Casini, honorary president of the Italian Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The meeting was attended by the chair of the Saudi-Italian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Elena Morelli.
During the meeting, Al-Rabeeah stressed the Kingdom’s devotion to supporting those in need and helping affected communities in different countries.
He pointed out that the Kingdom was at the forefront of countries supporting humanitarian action in the world.
“Through KSRelief, the Kingdom has reached 45 countries, including Yemen, where 60 percent of our projects are being implemented,” he said. “During the past four years, the Kingdom supported Yemen’s central bank and carried out humanitarian and development projects exceeding $16 billion, which reflects the Kingdom’s devotion to Yemen.”
Al-Rabeeah added Riyadh wished to reach a peaceful political solution, highlighting that it counted on the international community and the EU to support all initiatives aimed at achieving peace in Yemen, and preserving the security and stability of the region.
