RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of an emergency support project to assist Yemeni farmers, is implementing a number of initiatives, including providing farmers with tools and equipment, improving their livelihoods and their ability to provide for their families, protecting their land from desertification and increasing agricultural production. The project also addresses water shortages to help the farmers better provide for their livestock and increase agricultural outputs.
Through this support, KSrelief hopes to create economic opportunities and improve both agricultural and non-agricultural livelihoods in areas conducive to the implementation of early economic recovery projects. The center seeks to accomplish these goals by supporting and incentivizing agricultural professionals.
KSrelief is also implementing an emergency support project for the most affected families in six Yemeni provinces: Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dalla, Hajjah and Omran, with the aim of enhancing food security and providing livelihoods for 70,000 people. The government’s policy of “strengthening the state of the economy” has also been enhanced by the development of a reliable system for rehabilitating the production infrastructure of commercial fisheries.
This comes within the framework of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, represented by KSrelief, to provide a variety of humanitarian services to the Yemeni people during the ongoing crisis in their country.
