JERICHO, PALESTINE: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently launched a project to distribute 12,530 Ramadan food baskets in Jericho, Palestine. The launching ceremony was attended by the Governor of Jericho, Jihad Abu Al-Asal. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).
In a press statement following the ceremony, Governor Al-Asal extended his sincere thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for delivering food aid during the month of Ramadan, as the needs of many families have increased due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution was conducted using measures to protect both aid workers and beneficiaries from the spread of the virus.
A Representative from JHCO, Muhammad Khidr, pointed out that each basket contained enough food items to help feed a family for at least two weeks during the month of Ramadan; he added that KSrelief was purchasing the food from the local market to help support the Palestinian business sector.
