RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA (7 May 2020) Providing local dialysis services to alleviate the suffering of kidney failure patients and supporting the resilience of the health sector in the Yemeni governorate of Dhale are the main objectives of an agreement signed today by KSrelief in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed the Project to Operate the Dialysis Center in the Dhale Governorate; the project will be funded by KSrelief with an amount of USD 260,000. The implementing partner for the project is the Selah Foundation for Development, and will deliver 13,000 dialysis sessions and include a meal for each patient following his or her treatments. The contract also calls for the provision of a nephrology specialist, technicians and administrative staff to operate the dialysis center.
The project will cover the costs for dialysis solutions, medicines, medical and laboratory supplies, patient meals and spare parts for equipment maintenance; it will also secure any other medical and non-medical needs, administrative supplies and fuel. KSrelief will also support the operating budget, salaries and all operational expenses.
This is the second contract signed by KSrelief to support the center; previously, KSrelief provided a Fresenius dialysis machine, a generator and a water purification and sterilization plant to help support the operation of the treatment facility.
KSrelief’s main goal in supporting the center is to save the lives and reduce the suffering of kidney failure patients in the Dhale region by improving the ability of the dialysis center to deliver high-quality healthcare services to its patients.
