RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Arabian Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports (SAFEIS), to allocate funds raised from a “Gamers without Borders” online gaming competition to support international organizations and bodies such as UNICEF, International Medical Corps and GAVI. All three of these organizations are actively involved in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic globally.
The USD 10 million in funding will be, under the terms of this memorandum, used to support organizations concerned with fighting and limiting the spread of COVID-19 around the world; KSrelief will coordinate with those organizations to deliver assistance to targeted beneficiaries.
The memorandum was signed by KSrelief’s Assistant Supervisor General of Operations & Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz, and the CEO of SAFEIS, Turki bin Mishari Al Fawzan.
This initiative falls within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to helping countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in order to improve overall health incomes globally.
