JEDDAH: The growing role of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in cybersecurity and defense will be highlighted at a three-day conference in Riyadh.
Abdullah Al-Sawaha, Saudi minister of communications and information technology, will launch the forum and international exhibition on Wednesday.
More than 300 companies and 50 speakers will discuss the technology’s development and its application in areas ranging from digital processing systems to defense.
Saudi and international companies will showcase tech developments at the exhibition, while workshops will offer practical advice on the development of IoT solutions.
The summit follows the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 launched by the Kingdom. Digital investment experts predict the IoT market worldwide will grow to more than $600 billion by 2020.
