MADRID, April 12 (KUNA) — Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman held talks with Spanish King Felipe VI on Thursday, focusing on strategies to forge deeper bilateral relations in his first visit to Madrid.
Spain’s monarch will be hosting a luncheon in honor of Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who is also Saudi Arabia’s deputy prime minister and defense minister, the Spanish Royal Palace reported on its official website.
The Saudi official is also due to meet Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and Defense Minister Maria Dolores Cospedal later on Thursday, as Madrid hopes to clinch a deal worth USD 2.5 billion to sell a quintet of warships to the Kingdom, amongst other agreements.
Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, who arrived in Spain on Wednesday as part of a European tour that had taken him to France earlier, is accompanied by a delegation comprising officials from across Riyadh’s political spectrum.
