Dr. Al Rabeeah meets with Norwegian Ambassador to KSA

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), met today at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Saudi Arabia, Oifend Stock.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of humanitarian and relief work, as well as topics related to the global humanitarian repercussions of COVID-19. Dr. Al Rabeeah also briefed Ambassador Stock on KSrelief’s work to alleviate suffering and provide assistance to those in need in countries around the world.

Following their meeting the Norwegian Ambassador praised the Kingdom’s work through KSrelief to provide impartial, comprehensive aid globally.

KSrelief Distributes Shelter Aid to Flood Victims in Sudan’s Sinar State

SINAR, SUDAN: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with Al-Egtinam Organization for Human Development, distributed shelter materials yesterday to residents of the Nile neighborhood of Abu Hajjar in the Sudanese state of Sinar. The aid, which included tents, blankets, mattresses and shelter kits, will provide urgent assistance to those affected by recent floods in the area, and is part of a larger flood-relief project being carried out by KSrelief in various parts of the Republic of Sudan.

KSrelief has delivered 90 tons of food and emergency aid to flood victims as follows: 300 tents, 300 shelter kits, 1,800 blankets, 16 tons of food baskets and 40 tons of dates; beneficiary areas include affected parts of the Khartoum, Sinar and Al Jazeera states. A total of 31,980 people will benefit from this aid, which is part of the comprehensive relief work being done by the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, to provide urgent assistance to the Sudanese people in light of the various challenges and crises in the country.

KSrelief and UNDP Implement Agricultural Projects in Yemen

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as part of an emergency support project to assist Yemeni farmers, is implementing a number of initiatives, including providing farmers with tools and equipment, improving their livelihoods and their ability to provide for their families, protecting their land from desertification and increasing agricultural production. The project also addresses water shortages to help the farmers better provide for their livestock and increase agricultural outputs. 
Through this support, KSrelief hopes to create economic opportunities and improve both agricultural and non-agricultural livelihoods in areas conducive to the implementation of early economic recovery projects. The center seeks to accomplish these goals by supporting and incentivizing agricultural professionals.
KSrelief is also implementing an emergency support project for the most affected families in six Yemeni provinces: Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dalla, Hajjah and Omran, with the aim of enhancing food security and providing livelihoods for 70,000 people. The government’s policy of “strengthening the state of the economy” has also been enhanced by the development of a reliable system for rehabilitating the production infrastructure of commercial fisheries.
This comes within the framework of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, represented by KSrelief, to provide a variety of humanitarian services to the Yemeni people during the ongoing crisis in their country.

Two KSrelief Trucks Cross Al Wadiah Port with Medical Aid for Aden and Ma’rib

AL-WADEEAH, YEMEN: Between 24 and 26 August 2020, two trucks from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) crossed the Al Wadiah border crossing point from Saudi Arabia carrying 11 tons and 272 kilograms of medical supplies, including 24 wheelchairs and a variety of medicines. The medical aid was bound for the Aden and Ma’rib provinces to support health care services in those two regions.

KSrelief provides ongoing impartial assistance to all parts of Yemen to alleviate the suffering on the Yemeni people – hundreds of multisector projects.

Saudi Arabia supports Yemeni women in reproductive health

RIYADH: The UN Population Fund (UNFPA), with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), has provided, since the beginning of 2020, treatment services for more than 58,500 Yemeni women in reproductive health.
UNFPA seeks to fund maternity facilities and health centers by helping pregnant women ensure a safe delivery, so that their children can be healthy and stable.
This initiative is part of the support provided by the Kingdom, represented by KSRelief, to UNFPA with the aim of promoting the health of women and children in Yemen and various countries around the world.

KSrelief Delivers Respirators to Fight COVID-19 in Hadramawt

MUKALLA, YEMEN: Yesterday, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) handed over to the office of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in the Hadramawt coast a batch of artificial ventilators as part of special medical assistance to combat the spread of the new Coronavirus (Coved-19) virus in the Republic of Yemen.

The Undersecretary of Hadramawt Province for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Basareeh, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, for its support of Hadramawt. He added that the various forms of medical aid being provided are vital to combating the spread of COVID-19, and that these devices would be distributed to hospitals and special isolation centers that receive HIV-infected cases in Hadramawt province.

This comes as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support the Yemeni people in all fields, including helping them address the COVID-19 epidemic and reduce its effects.

KSrelief’s Nutritional Medical Clinics in Hudaydah Continue to Provide Services in Hudaydah

HUDAYDAH, YEMEN: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) Emergency Nutritional Clinics continue to provide treatment services in the Al-Khoukha district of the Hudaydah governorate, in partnership with the Taybah Development Foundation.

Between 6 and 12 August 2020, 1,986 beneficiaries were received at the clinics: 199 in the reproductive health clinic, 21 in the therapeutic feeding clinic, 434 in the surgical and wound-dressing clinic, 41 in the maternity clinic, 6 in the medical referral department, 862 in the education and awareness department, and 28 in the maternity clinic.

Laboratory tests were carried out for 979 patients, 2,779 patients were prescribed medications, the hypnosis department received two patients, the department of electrocardiograms and blood transfusions received 29 individuals, and 1,249 cases were reviewed by the health care department.

KSrelief Continues to Provide Emergency Food Support to the Victims of Beirut’s Port Explosion

BEIRUT, LEBANON: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) continues to provide emergency food assistance to the families living in areas near the port of Beirut where a massive explosion occurred recently. The blast resulted in great human and material losses, and left many thousands of people without shelter or food. The aid included food baskets, bread, boxes of dates and cartons of mild, and helped to feed 396 families.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is providing multisector assistance to Lebanon during this difficult time.
