KSrelief Launch “Their Happiness is Our Hope” Project for At-risk Children in Yemen

ADEN, YEMEN: Today, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) launched “Their Happiness is Our Hope”, a project to distribute Eid Al Adha kiswa (gifts) for orphaned and IDP children in various parts of Yemen. The gifts will be handed out with the cooperation of the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR) to 40,000 children across the governorates of Aden, Lahij, Abyan, Al Dhale, Al Hudaydah and Taiz.

Jamal Balfaqih, the Coordinator for the Supreme Commission for Relief in Yemen, thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its commitment to the welfare of orphaned and IDP children, adding that this project reflected the Kingdom’s generosity to all the children of Yemen.

Representatives from local authorities and social services groups in the targeted governorates also praised the Kingdom’s role, and expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for standing with the Yemeni people.

The “Their Happiness is Our Hope” Project 2020 is one of the many humanitarian projects targeting 84,750 orphaned and IDP children in various Yemeni governorates. Clothing and other gifts will be distributed throughout the Eid Al Adha holiday.

KSrelief Distributes Food Baskets and Dates to Yemeni IDPs

YEMEN: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) continues to distribute aid throughout Yemen. On 16 July 2020, 600 food baskets (44.4 tons) were provided to 3,600 IDPs who had fled Sa’dah to the Al Wadi districts of Ma’rib. 10,250 boxes of dates were provided to 10,250 most in need families in Ma’rib, the Sirwah district, the Al Wadi district, the Majzar district and the Reghwan district. 2,900 boxes of dates were provided to 2,900 IDP families who had fled Sana’a to Ma’rib.

All aid was handed out in cooperation with the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief (BCHR).

KSrelief also recently launched an urgent food and shelter aid distribution project to help people affected by heavy rains and flooding in several parts of Yemen.
