KSrelief Continues Al Khawkhah WASH Project

AL HUDAYDAH, YEMEN: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) continues to implement a WASH sector project for inhabitants of Al Hudaydah’s Al Khawkhah district to provide clean water and protect the health of local residents.

From 10 – 16 December, the project pumped 291,000 liters of safe drinking water into holding tanks, and 192,000 liters were provided for other household uses. Other components of the project include the collection and transportation of solid waste to local landfills in the district, and maintenance services. Fourteen insect-spraying campaigns were also conducted to combat local disease vectors, and 88 hygiene kits were distributed.

KSrelief has implemented more than 500 impartial, multisector projects to help the Yemeni people during the ongoing conflict in their country.

KSrelief Signs Agreement to Implement Vocational Training Project for Yemen Youth

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently signed a joint agreement with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to implement a Vocational Training and Business Skills Support for Youth Project in Yemen for a total cost of USD 3 million.

The agreement was signed virtually by KSrelief’s Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz, and a UNDP Representative, Mr. Auke Lootsma. 

Under this agreement, youth and women will be able to acquire professional, technical and commercial skills by participating in vocational and professional training courses. Subjects include life and economic skills, and 910 young men and women are expected to join the program in the governorates of Hadramawt, Dhamar, Ibb and Lahij.

This agreement comes as a continuation of ongoing relief efforts being provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

KSrelief Launches Third Batch of Kingdom’s COVID-19 Support for Palestine

RAMALLAH, PALESTINE: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently handed over its third batch of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s COVID-19 support for Palestine; the aid was presented to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the presence of the Health Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mai Al Kaila.

This third batch of aid included ventilators, ICU beds, operating tables and patient monitoring systems. These items will help to equip Palestinian hospitals and health centers specialized in treating COVID-19, particularly in areas that are short of supplies and need more support to improve their health situations.

This aid is being provided according to directives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown Prince for KSrelief to provide urgent assistance to vulnerable countries to help them combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
